So, as I stated in an earlier post, the time to buy tech is right after you bought it. My case in point: I was one of the early adopter’s of Motorola’s Droid phone. I was due for a new phone, and it looked like the right phone for me- I didn’t have to leave Verizon for an iPhone, and it had everything that I needed in a phone, and then some. All in all, I have been very happy with it and would encourage anyone looking to get into the smartphone arena to consider one over the iPhone, especially if you are in New York.
Now Google is releasing their own phone, called the Nexus One. People are saying it has the potential to be the iPhone killer. Now, what really is different between the Droid and the Nexus One? the Nexus is a little faster, presumably, and is more stylish. But that’s about it.
Google has stated that they are not going to do any TV advertising for it, so the Droid will probably still have strong sales, as Verizon has gone hog wild on promoting the thing. However, the Nexus One is going to be the phone that gets the geek cred, and that’s something that I’m always after.
Now on the other hand, I’ve got a full year to sit back and wait to see what will be around NEXT year when it’s time to start looking at phones.
